Terms of service

These terms govern your use of Flamas at flamas.io. Using the service means you accept them. They are written plainly on purpose: terms nobody can read are terms nobody agreed to.

Who you are agreeing with

Your account

You need to be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and at least 16. One person, one account. You are responsible for what happens under yours. Do not share it, and tell us if you think somebody else is using it.

What you post

You keep ownership of everything you post. You give us permission to display it on the service and in the things that point at the service: search results, the public API, the summaries we publish for AI engines, and short videos and social posts that link back to your listing. That permission ends when you delete the content, except where somebody has already relied on it, such as a vote already counted.

Videos are the one place your listing appears somewhere we do not control, so you can switch them off. Every product and every want carries a “do not feature this in videos” setting, and turning it on stops new videos being made. Ask us and we will take down one already published.

You agree not to post things that are illegal, deceptive, or somebody else's. In particular:

• Do not list a product you have no right to list.
• Do not manipulate a ranking: no bought upvotes, no accounts made to vote, no asking people to vote for something they have not looked at.
• Do not enter a product into a want it plainly does not answer. Putting an unrelated product in front of an audience is the behaviour this board exists to prevent.
• Do not scrape the site outside the published API, and do not resell its data.

Credits and payments

• One credit is $1. Credits are prepaid, bought in blocks of at least 25, and spent on specific things: 29 for a premium launch, 15 for an extra relaunch, and a per-person price for contact lists.
• Credits are not money, carry no interest, and cannot be cashed out or transferred between accounts.
• Credits are sold final and are not refundable. At checkout you ask for them immediately and confirm you understand that this ends the fourteen-day right to cancel. They reach your account as soon as the payment clears, which is delivery complete.
• The exception, and it is the only one. If we do not supply what you paid for, you can require it, and if we still do not supply it you can end the contract and have that money back. This applies to credits that never arrived and to an unspent balance on an account we close without you having broken these terms. It is a statutory right and we could not remove it here even if we wanted to.
• Prices can change. A change never applies to credits you have already bought.

Launches and ranking

• Each day has 7 free slots and 8 paid ones. A free launch takes the next day with an opening; a premium launch picks its date.
• Paying never buys rank. It buys timing, a dofollow link and placement. Ranking comes from upvotes, capped at 5 per person per day.
• A dofollow link is conditional on your site answering. We request it on a schedule. If it stops responding we remove the dofollow attribute and move the listing to the graveyard. This is not a penalty and not a refundable failure on our side: it is the thing the whole board is for.

Wants and races

• A want is decided by the people who vote on it, over 30 days, against fixed thresholds published on the site. Nobody can buy a result, and the person who posted a want has no more power over it than anyone else.
• A candidate must clear 10votes and beat both the “nothing here fits” option and the runner-up. If none does, the want is recorded as unserved. We do not award a result that was not earned, and there is no appeal against a vote that simply did not go your way.
• Winning a race lets you buy the contact details of the people who consented to be contacted. Those people can revoke at any moment, and a revoked address must be removed from your copy. Using an address for anything other than the want it was given on is a breach of these terms and, probably, of data protection law.

Moderation

Everything posted here is screened, and some of it is screened twice. Here is exactly how that works, because a moderation policy nobody can read is a moderation policy nobody can hold us to.

What gets checked

• Text you post is scored automatically for spam, scams, hate, harassment, sexual content, violence and malware. Most of it passes and you never notice.
• Candidates entered against a want are checked for whether the product plausibly answers the problem. This one is about relevance rather than harm: it exists so a want cannot be used as free advertising for something unrelated.
• Anything a person reports. Every listing, comment, post, want and profile carries a report button, and a report puts the item in front of a human.

What happens after a check

• Allowed. Nothing happens and you never hear about it.
• Held for review. The item stays up and goes into a queue a person reads. Most things that look borderline to software look fine to a person.
• Refused. The most clear-cut categories are refused as you post, and you are told at the time rather than left wondering why nothing appeared. A record is kept so a wrong refusal can be found and reversed.

Who decides

Software finds candidates for review; a person decides anything that removes content or restricts an account. An automated relevance verdict can keep a product off a want's ballot, and that is the furthest any automated decision goes on its own. Every staff action is written to an audit log with who did it.

What we can do

• Remove a listing, comment, post or want.
• Take a candidate off a want's ballot.
• Suspend an account, which stops it signing in and posting. Content already relied on, such as votes counted in a resolved race, stays counted.
• Remove a dofollow link. Note this also happens automatically when a site stops answering, which is a measurement rather than a punishment.

If you think we got it wrong

Email merse.sarvari@gmail.com and say what was removed and why you think that was wrong. A person who did not make the original decision reads it. We keep the record of every decision precisely so this is possible, and we do reverse them.

We do not remove things for being unpopular, for competing with something else here, or for criticising us. A product doing badly in a race is not a moderation matter, and neither is a want whose crowd decided nothing fit.

The service itself

We do not promise the service is available without interruption or free of faults. It is provided as it is. We are not liable for indirect losses, lost profit, or lost opportunity. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death, personal injury, or our own fraud. Where liability can be limited, it is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the problem.

We are not responsible for the products listed here. A listing is not an endorsement, a pulse is a measurement rather than a guarantee, and a want being answered does not mean the product is any good.

Ending it

You can delete your account whenever you like. We can close an account that breaks these terms. If we close yours without cause, we refund unspent credits. Content other people relied on, such as a resolved race, stays on the record.

Law and disputes

Hungary law governs these terms, and its courts hear any dispute. If you are a consumer, this does not take away rights you have where you live. Talk to us first: merse.sarvari@gmail.com.

Changes

We will post changes here and, when they matter, tell you by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means accepting them. How we handle personal data is in the privacy policy.
