Enable dynamic, zoom-based navigation within web applications
Developer ToolsThe ask
Developers often seek alternative navigation paradigms for web applications. Traditional page-based navigation can feel disjointed for certain content types or user experiences. Current zoom-based interfaces, such as Prezi, are designed as closed presentation platforms. They function as storytelling devices between fixed frames, rather than as adaptable navigation models for custom applications. Integrating their zoom engine is not possible. Other open frameworks, like impress.js, also focus on sequential slide-like presentations. They lack capabilities for dynamically loading and unloading content or managing navigation state as users interactively zoom through an application's interface. All content exists in the DOM simultaneously. A need exists for a component that allows developers to implement zoom-based navigation within their own applications. This component should manage dynamic view injection, scaling, and state transitions, providing a fluid alternative to traditional routing for single page applications.
